Winthrop sophomore Erica Williams has been selected the Big South Conference player of the week.
In two wins last week, Williams averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and connected on 55 percent of her field goal attempts. She also converted 9 of 10 free throws.
In the win over Longwood on Tuesday, she recorded her ninth double-double of the year with 18 points and 12 rebounds. She also dished out six assists. In the victory over Charleston Southern on Saturday, she scored a season-high 25 points in only 28 minutes while connecting on 9 of 14 field goals and 7 of 8 free throws. She also pulled down 5 rebounds and had 3 assists.
With her two performances last week she has taken over the conference scoring lead at 16.3 points per game heading into tonight’s game at Campbell..
