Brianna Gray and Madilyn McCarty each earned Big South volleyball weekly honors, conference officials announced Tuesday.
Gray, a junior from Anderson, was named the Big South’s Choice Hotels Player of the Week. In three matches at the Bash in the ‘Boro, Anderson averaged 2.5 kills per set with a .500 attack percentage. She notched double-digit kills in two matches and also totaled 14 blocks over the weekend.
McCarty, a setter from Springfield, IL, was named the Big South Crons Brand Freshman of the Week. She averaged 10.8 assists per set in the team’s three victories with a career-high 53 assists against Georgia Southern. She also totaled 17 digs and 10 blocks on the weekend and hit. 429.
The Eagles make their home debut this weekend, hosting the Winthrop Invitational. Winthrop will welcome Davidson, Murray State and West Virginia to the Winthrop Coliseum.
