High school football practices, scrimmages

Practice starts Friday at 4 p.m. with a team meeting. Player go out from 5:30-8 p.m. Practice Saturday morning from 9-noon. Players should being a couple of extra T-shirts.

Scrimmages: Aug. 9 at Laurens, with Ware Shoals and Strom Thurmond, 10 a.m.; Aug. 12 South Pointe, Lancaster Byrnes, Marlboro County at Chester, 6 p.m. in the Cyclones Stadium ($5 charge per car); Aug. 15 Chester vs. Broome at Blacksburg, 6 p.m.; Aug. 16 Chester vs. South Pointe in 16 The Herald Football Jamboree, 4th period.


Players report to the school tonight and go out for the first practice at 12:01 a.m. Friday (Midnight Madness). Other Friday practices are from 7-9 a.m. and 10 a.m.-noon. Players come back Saturday for a 4 p.m. practice -- time could change and if so will be announced Friday after the second practice. Players should bring a pillow and a change of clothes tonight


Scrimmages: Aug. 7 Dorman at Clover, 9 a.m.; Aug. 12 Piedmont (N.C.) at Clover, 6 p.m.; Aug. 14 Clover vs. Audrey Kell at York, 6:30 p.m.


Practice starts Aug. 4 at 8-11 a.m. in the morning and 6-9 p.m. in the afternoon. Physical forms and signed parent permission sheet to participate.

Scrimmages: Aug. 12 Indian Land at Great Falls, 6 p.m.; ($3 charge); Aug. 15 Chesterfield Jamboree vs. Cheraw; Aug. 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Lancaster


JV and varsity football practice starts Friday from 9 a.m.-noon. Practice Aug. 2 from 9 am-noon. JV and varsity practices Aug. 4. 7 from 8-10 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A parent meeting is schedule for Aug. 7 from 7-8 p.m. in the ILHS gym. Middle school football practice begins Aug. 18 at 4 p.m. in the ILMS gym.

Scrimmages:Aug. 8 at Whitmire, at 6 p.m.; Aug. 12 at Great Falls, 6 p.m.; Aug. 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Lancaster, 1st period, 4 p.m.; Aug. 19 Marvin Ridge, Cardinal Newman at Indian Land; Aug. 19 at 6 p.m..; Aug. 22 Founder's Kick-off Classic Jamboree at Indian Land vs. Lancaster at 8:30 p.m.


Practice starts Friday from 8-10:30 a.m. and again at 6-8:30 a.m. Practice Saturday from 8-10:30 a.m. Team leaves for Camp Bob Cooper near Manning Monday and returns Thursday.

Scrimmages: Aug. 12 at Lewisville with Fairfield Central, 6 p.m.; Aug. 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Lancaster; Aug. 20 at Butler (N.C.) 6 p.m.; Aug. 23 Lancaster vs. Great Falls Indian Land in the Founders Jamboree at Indian Land.


Practice starts Aug. 3. Players report to camp. There will be a parents' meeting at 6 p.m. in school gymnasium that night. Players must have a physical and should bring clothes for week. The team will remain at school until Aug. 8 after the first scrimmage.

Scrimmages:Aug. 8 Ridge Spring-Monetta, Buford and Andrew Jackson at Lewisville, 6 p.m. (Will charge for scrimmage); Aug. 12 at Lancaster, 6 p.m.; Aug. 15 at Fairfield Central Jamboree vs. Eau Claire, 6:30 p.m.; Aug. 16 The Herald football Jamboree vs. York in 3rd period.


Practice starts Friday at 5 p.m. Players must have an updated physical to practice. All players are expected to be at the first practice.

Scrimmages:Aug. 13 at Parkwood, 6 p.m.; Aug. 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Indian land at 4 p.m.


Varsity and JV practice starts Friday from 8 a.m.-10:30 and players go back out at 5 p.m. Practice on Monday is from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Players must bring completed physical and parents'' permission form and a birth certificate.

Scrimmages: Aug. 12 Northwestern vs. Blythewood at District Three Stadium, 6 p.m.; Aug. 14 at Spring Valley, 6 p.m.; Aug. 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Fort Mill in the 6th period; Aug. 19 at Irmo, 6 p.m.; Aug. 22 Northwestern vs. Independence, Ridge View at District Three Stadium (charge at the gate) 6 p.m.


Practice starts for the varsity and JV players Friday from 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m., and 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. the first three days. The schedule changes to 8:30-10:30 a.m., and 5:30 -7:30 each day there is a scrimmage. Equipment for 9th-grade players will be issued Aug. 7-8 from 8-10 a.m.

South Pointe will have a cookout for any rising football players in grades 9-12 tonight at 6:30 p.m. in school's cafeteria. Ham-burgers and hot dogs will be served. Parents, brothers and sisters are invited to come out and meet the Stallions' family. Varsity and JV practice starts Friday at 4 p.m. Players must have physicals to practice. The remainder of the pre season practice schedule will be given after practice. Practice for 9th-grade player starts Aug. 4th at 6 p.m. Players must have a physical to participate.

Scrimmages:Aug. 12 at Richland Northeast, 6 p.m.; Aug 12 at Chester with Byrnes, Marlboro County, 6 p.m.; Aug. 14 Belmont South Point at South Pointe, 6 p.m.; Aug 16 The Herald Football Jamboree vs Chester, 4th period; Aug 22 at Irmo with Rock Hill, Dutch Fork 6 p.m.


Varsity, JV, and 9th grade football players are reminded that team testing and equipment issue are today at 5 p.m. A parents' meeting is at 7 p.m. tonight in the stadium. Practice starts Friday at 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for varsity, junior varsity, and 9th grade players. JV and 9th-grade players will practice Monday through Friday from 8-11 a.m. Varsity players report Sunday by 3 p.m. to York Junior High Gym for overnight camp. Camp will break Thursday at noon.

Players must have physical forms and signed parent permission sheets in order to practice. The 7th and 8th grade teams start practice Aug. 11th from 9- 11 a.m.

There will be a Moms' Clinic on Aug. 10 at YCHS Field House 3 p.m. Meet the Cougars is Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. in the stadium

Scrimmages: Aug. 8 at Chapman, 5 p.m.; Aug. 12 at Audrey Kell. 6 p.m.; August 14 Bank of York Kickoff Scrimmage -- Clover vs. Audrey Kell at 6:30 p.m. and Union vs. York at 8 p.m. (this is a charged scrimmage $6 to enter); Aug. 16 -- The Herald Football Jamboree vs. Lewisville 3rd period; Aug. 22 at Blue Ridge Jamboree vs. Blue Ridge High School 6:30 p.m.
