High school roundup: Fort Mill softball blanks South Pointe

Fort Mill 14, South Pointe 0: Danielle Gibson hit a two-run home run, her third of the season, to lead the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets to a 14-0 win over the South Pointe Stallions in a Region 3-AAAA contest at South Pointe.
Rock Hill 13, Lancaster 12
Fort Mill 3, South Pointe 2: Austin Cassidy scored two goals and led the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets to a 3-2 win over the South Pointe Stallions in a Region 3-AAAA match at South Pointe.
Keegan Downie scored the third goal for the Yellow Jackets.
Mason Strohl and Zach Lundy each recorded an assist for Fort Mill.
Josh Reid opened the scoring to give the Stallions a 1-0 lead. After Fort Mill scored three straight goals, Peyton Marion added the second South Pointe goal.
Indian Land 7, Cheraw 1: Jordan Szustwal scored two goals and led the Indian Land Warriors to a 7-1 victory over the Cheraw Braves in Region 3-AA action at Cheraw.
Garrett Gerdes, Brandon Jacob, Zac Patterson, Joseph Parsons and Calvin Lovejoy each added one goal for Indian Land. Gerdes also had three assists, while Roscoe Lovejoy, Justin Penn, and Matthew Medlock each had one.
Jake Barton and Luke Harris worked in the net for the Warriors. Barton had four saves, while Harris had two.
The win improved Indian Land to 8-2 overall. The Warriors are 3-0 in the region.
Indian Land 13, Andrew Jackson 1: The Indian Land Warriors scored 10 runs in the first four innings en route to a 13-1 victory over the Andrew Jackson Volunteers in a Region 3-AA matchup at Andrew Jackson.
Jake Dyer led the hitting parade for the Warriors with three hits and two RBIs. Chris Cantrell added a pair of hits and drove in three runs. Mike Webb smashed a home run and drove in three runs.
Dyer pitched a complete game to even his record at 1-1. He allowed only five singles, while striking out eight.
Great Falls 221, Chester 245: Josh Payseur carded a 43 to take medalist honors and lead the Great Falls Red Devils to a win over the Chester Cyclones at Chester Golf Course.
