Rock Hill, Fort Mill open legion playoffs at home on Monday

Rock Hill and Fort Mill open the American Legion baseball playoffs at home on Monday, while Clover and Lancaster’s programs will hit the road for Game 1.

Rock Hill Post 34 opens the American Legion baseball postseason at home Monday night against Easley Post 52 at 7 p.m.

Post 34 finished 9-3 and won District Five, allowing them to host District Eight’s fourth seed at Rock Hill High School in Game One. Senior American Legion teams play best-out-of-five series, so the two teams will play Tuesday at Easley, Wednesday at Rock Hill. If Game Four and Five are required, the teams will play Thursday at Easley and Friday at Rock Hill.

Fort Mill Post 43 finished 6-6, claiming second place in District Five and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Post 43 will host Belton Monday night, also a 7 p.m. start. Clover Post 38 (5-7) finished in third place and will hit the road Monday night to face Greenville. Lancaster Post 31 (4-8) will also be hitting the highway Monday night to face Greenwood in the opener of that series.

York Post 66 won the District Five Junior Legion regular season title and will host Greenville Monday night. Lancaster finished second and welcomes Greenwood to town, while Rock Hill (at Greer) and Clover (at Aiken) travel for Game One. Junior Legion ball plays best-out-of-three series, so home teams will be on the road Tuesday before returning home Wednesday for a third game if necessary.
