Northwestern quarterback Justin Worley, a 6-foot-5, 195-pound senior, is finishing one of the best careers ever in South Carolina at his position.
Since Worley became the starter his sophomore season, the Trojans are 34-7 and region champs three straight years.
Worley, who committed to the Tennessee Volunteers, is a three-year starter and is rewriting the state record book, "Palmetto's Finest." All records in the book are recognized as official and are sanctioned by the South Carolina High School League.
Palmetto's Finest does not include all records, so several of the stats below are those compiled by Northwestern offensive coordinator Kyle Richardson.
Never miss a local story.
We will update Worley's stats each week, with notes where necessary. Worley threw four more TD passes last week, giving him 47 this season. Worley is currently third in that category in "Palmetto's Finest," with 50 in 2008. The leader is former Byrnes quarterback Willy Korn, with 53. With at least one playoff game to be played, Worley is well within reach of moving up, if not breaking the record.
We'll keep you informed.
Last Friday: In the Trojans' 42-0 win over Rock Hill, Worley completed 26-of-31 passes for 405 yards and 4 TDs.
