FORT MILL -- The Knights ended their six game losing streak with an 8-2 win over visiting Richmond at Knights Stadium.

The Knights got a win with two things that have been missing of late, great pitching and timely hitting.

Knights manager Marc Bombard had the Knights running in the first inning as they had three hit and runs on leading to 5 first inning runs.

The Knights also picked up a run off of solo home run from first baseman Royce Huffman in the 3rd inning. It was Huffman's fourth homer of the season.

Charlotte starter Jack Egbert earned his first career Triple-A win. Egbert was masterful through 7 innings as he allowed just two Richmond runs off of three hits. He also struck out four Braves hitters, as his fastball was routinely in the mid-90s.

The Knights and Braves will conclude their four game series tonight at Knights Stadium at 7:15 p.m.

Wes Whisler (5-3, 2.91 ERA) will start for the Knights. The Braves will counter with Jonathan Rouwenhorst (5-4, 4.33 ERA).
