Fort Mill's Mark Blackmon captured his third consecutive Class AAAA cross country state title Saturday at the South Carolina High School League state championships at the Sandhills Research Center. The confident sophomore eased across the finish line about 100 meters ahead of the second-place runner.

Nation Ford's run through the state volleyball playoffs came to a screeching halt Thursday at No. 1 Dorman. The Cavaliers won the match 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-16). Nation Ford finished the year with a 26-4 record.
