Watkins headed to college; games suspended

- Barry Byers

Rock Hill's Mark Watkins has signed a football scholarship with North Greenville.

Watkins, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound defensive end and a two-year starter, will get tryouts at linebacker, fullback and defensive end.

NGC wants him as a defensive end and he'll get a try at fullback. He was a linebacker during his junior season.

Watkins led the Bearcats in tackles that season. He was the second-leading tackler this season although he missed several games with an injury.
