Film Festival yc to show 59 short films

The Arts Council of York County fourth annual Underexposed Film Festival yc opens Wednesday with 38 films entered into competition and 21 invitational films curated by festival director Karen Collins

The festival runs through Nov. 7 with screenings at the Community Performance Center, 249 E. Main St.; Amélie’s Uncorked, 157 E. Main St.;, and Dina’s Place at Winthrop University’s DiGiorgio Student Center, 202 Alumni Drive, all in Rock Hill.

There will be eight 2-hour blocks of films. The first block of films will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Amélie’s Uncorked. Two blocks of films will be shown on both Thursday and Friday. Nov. 7 brings 3 blocks of films, after which there will be an awards ceremony where the top films, the Cinema Carolina, Woman to Watch, and the Best Student Film will be announced.

A wrap party after the ceremony will be at a location to be announced. Tickets start at $6 per block. Tickets, festival passes, wrap party tickets, and more information, including the schedule of events, are available at underexposedfilmfestivalyc.org.
