Wylie produce stand robbed

LAKE WYLIE -- South Forty Farms, 640 S.C. 274, just north of the Pole Branch Road intersection, was broken into between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. Sunday, according to York County Sheriff's Office reports.

About $150 in cash and coins, along with an electronic scale worth $500 was stolen, the report states.

The stand, owned by Tim and Phyllis Reid, opened in June. Despite the break-in, Tim Reid, who said the couple spent 21 years selling fireworks near Carowinds, isn't daunted.

'These are the best customers," he said. "Wonderful people."

Authorities have no suspects in the case.
