RIVER HILLS -- Thelma Grace Sternberg, 77, died July 28, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at River Hills Community Church, with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Sternberg was born Oct. 30, 1930, in Chambersburg, Pa., to the late Paul R. and Margaret Spangler Eyer.

Survivors are her husband, Harold A. Sternberg of Lake Wylie; sons, Benjamin A. Goulding and Kendrick Sternberg, both of Charlotte; daughter, Carol Joy Far`ia of Ludlow, Mass.; brother, Paul R. Eyer Jr. of Winterhaven, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

LAKE WYLIE -- Walter Missel Jr., 62, of 7 Old Stage Trail, Lake Wylie, died Aug. 7, 2008.
Missel was born Nov. 4, 1945, in Santa Ana, Calif., to Walter Missel Sr. and the late Alberta W. Missel. He was a veteran of the Navy having served during the Vietnam War. Walter was a retired union carpenter who was a member of Local 1107 in Kenilworth, N.J., Local 43 in Hartford, Conn., and Local 312 in Lexington, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Diane A. Missel; daughter, Jennifer Missel of Eatontown, N.J.; son, Christopher Weitz of Ellington, Conn.; father, Walter Missel Sr. of Tioga, Pa.; brother, Rodney Missel of Tioga, Pa.; and two grandchildren, Malcolm Missel-Grey and Ryan Weitz.
A memorial service was held Aug. 11 at M.L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 4820 Charlotte Hwy., Lake Wylie, with the Rev. Charles Darden Jr. officiating.
