More than 75 Boy Scouts from across York County recently attended a Fast Track workshop for the Personal Management merit badge conducted by Family Trust Federal Credit Union at Manchester Meadows.
Five Family Trust employees made presentations on nine topics that included time management, investing, good credit, budgeting and career choices. Each Boy Scout received a notebook outlining the steps to achieve the badge, a patch for completing the workshop and a pizza lunch. The Winthrop University Men’s Basketball Team provided schedule cards and autographed posters as door prizes.

The Personal Management merit badge is one of 12 badges required to become an Eagle Scout. Scouts must prepare a budget and track spending for 13 weeks.
This is the fourth year that Family Trust has conducted its Fast Track workshop as part of the credit union’s commitment to financial education for youth and to the York District of the Palmetto Council. More than 300 Scouts have completed the workshop.
