The nonprofit group Carolina Climate Action is organizing an Earth Day celebration for uptown Charlotte’s Marshall Park on April 26.
It’s billed as a noncorporate event focused on environmental education and action. Speakers will represent advocacy groups NC WARN, Greenpeace and Clean Air Carolina and will include City Council member John Autry.
The event will run from noon to 6 p.m. Organizers promise a family-friendly event with face-painting, kids’ activities, food trucks and live music. Charlotte Metro Credit Union is sponsoring it. Details: www.globalclimatefast.org. Bruce Henderson
