Charlotte’s Arts & Science Council said Thursday that it will extend its annual drive until the end of the month because it has fallen 13 percent short of its $6.9 million goal, which may mean cuts to the cultural organizations it supports.
It is only the second time in ASC’s 55-year history that it has extended its drive because of a shortfall. In 2010, the drive went longer because of the impact of the recession, said Bernie Petit, ASC communications manager. Mark Washburn
