Kenan Gay jury deliberations enter 3rd day

Jurors in Kenan Gay’s second-degree murder trial will begin a third day of deliberations Friday after failing for a full day to reach a verdict. The panel’s talks got off to a slow start Thursday when one of the jurors showed up 40 minutes late.

Gay, 25, is accused of the March 3, 2012, death of Robert “Robb” Kingston, 30. Both men had been drinking at Ed’s Tavern that night when Kingston tried to kiss Gay’s girlfriend.

Gay pushed Kingston out the front door. Witnesses say Gay then shoved Kingston into Park Road, where he was struck by a car. Gay then fled.

Gay’s attorneys say their client let go of Kingston more than 20 feet from the travel lane, and that Kingston drunkenly stumbled into the car’s path. Michael Gordon
