A Lenoir man was accidentally shot and killed by his cousin last week in Salisbury.
Roy Jacob Bryant, 23, of Ivey Stine Road and his sister Kristen Bryant, 22, of Connelly Springs Road were visiting with family members at the home of Timothy Scott Glover, 22, of Woodleaf Road in Salisbury on June 9.
Glover was showing Bryant a .410-caliber shotgun shortly after 11 p.m. in a bedroom of the house, loaded a shell into the weapon while his finger was on the trigger, and it discharged, said Capt. John Sifford of Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. The shot hit Bryant in the stomach area.
Rowan County EMS attempted CPR, but Bryant died at the scene.

Sifford said both Roy Bryant and Glover had been drinking, but he stopped short of saying alcohol was a factor in the accident.
The investigation will be turned over to the district attorney’s office to determine whether charges are warranted. Associated Press
