A portion of Blackwelder Road at N.C. 49 will be closed Monday for three months for construction, the N.C. Department of Transportation says.
The closure will enable crews to continue working on bridge construction in the area, according to DOT. The road is expected to be closed until about Sept. 21. A detour has been established using Roberta Road, Stough Road and N.C. 49.
Motorists can expect delays in the area, DOT said. Observer staff reports
