A man wanted in Chester County, S.C., for more than two years was arrested Friday after a fight with a girlfriend in York, then charged with escape after trying to flee police after they discovered he had outstanding warrants, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.
Donald Ray Bowers, 33, was being held at the York County jail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responding to a 911 call were told by a woman that Bowers hit her after an argument, resulting in bruises on her face.
Court records show Bowers was found guilty in 2012 on a charge of criminal domestic violence.
Bowers was charged with escape, public disorderly conduct, and assault and battery.
