The Charlotte Observer is publishing in pink on Friday for powerful and important reasons.
It’s likely that someone in your family or circle of friends has fought breast cancer. Let our pink paper be a reminder to think of them Friday and maybe even reach out to them.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we honor and remember all who have fought this disease. Building awareness is one of our weapons against it. We know that education and early detection have helped raise survival rates.
We are hosting an event Friday in partnership with Charlotte Radiology. Come have lunch on the Observer’s lawn at 600 S. Tryon St. in uptown Charlotte. We’ll have good food and a good time with live music and shopping opportunities. Publix gift bags will go to our first 108 guests. We’ll also have experts on hand who can answer questions about early detection and local breast cancer resources.
Please join us Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
