The York County Council has approved a resolution recognizing Sang K. Pak for his contributions to the community.
The council’s resolution noted that Pak, a taekwondo grandmaster, has “consistently supported youth in York County” as a “positive role model and moral leader” through his exhibitions and fundraisers.
This is the third such recognition by the county, but documents from the two previous resolutions, in 1999 and 2005, were destroyed by fire at Pak’s martial arts facility off Cherry Road. Pak has since reopened his business at the same location.
Pak’s next benefit will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Dutchman Creek Middle School gymnasium on Mount Gallant Road. Proceeds will benefit the safety patrols and “Back the Pack” programs at York County schools.
