Runners will have a chance to share a course with jets at Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Oct. 25, as the airport announced its annual Runway 5K on Wednesday.
The course covers one of the airport’s taxiways and runways, and it is baby stroller-friendly, Charlotte Douglas said. The run “provides up close and exciting views of planes landing and taking off,” according to a news release.
Last year, 2,000 runners participated. Proceeds benefit Lifespan, which assists those with developmental disabilities. You can register for $30 at RaceIT.com, or for $35 the morning of the race. Ely Portillo
