FORT MILL — The Fort Mill boat access ramp at Lake Wylie Dam should beopen by early next month, complete with several improvements. The ramp was shut down earlier this month for renovations. “It’s a total upgrade to that facility,” said Tim Pettit, spokesman forDuke Energy, the company that manages the Catawba River. Includes are fishing platforms, a walking trail, an upgraded boat launchand improvements to the turnaround, including paving. Construction should becomplete by the end of this month, with the boat ramp reopening shortlyafter. “We’re still on track,” Pettit said. “Rain’s slowed us down a littlebit, but we still expect that thing to be open the first of May.”
