LAKE WYLIE -- The South Carolina Department of Transportation approved a traffic light for S.C. 49 and Village Harbor Drive Friday morning, which should be installed within 60 to 90 days.
Danny Carns, associate traffic engineer, said the final approval came Friday and will now work on designing the signal. The light will be the basic variety, he said, and will not feature turn arrows. The department only one signal crew to service seven counties.
No other lights are planned for S.C. 49 at present, Carns said.
"That's not to say there won't be," he said. "I just haven't seen any other ones yet."
