Have coffee with local legislators on Friday

Here's your chance to ask questions of and make suggestions to your local legislators before the N.C. General Assembly convenes in May. Sen. David Hoyle, Rep. William Current and Rep. Wil Neumann will be at the Chamber Coffee & Conversation April 11 at Queen of The Apostles Catholic Church Family Center, 503 N. Main St., Belmont.

Coffee and juice, and a light breakfast will be provided starting at 7:30 a.m. The program will run from 8 to 9 a.m.

• Olympians Picnic in the Park 6:30-9 p.m. April 23 in Belmont's Stowe Park to welcome Olympians participating in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Whitewater Slalom. RoughDraft will perform and food will be available from Sammy's Neighborhood Pub and Belmont Food and Beverage. The Olympic Team Trials will be held April 25-27 at U.S. National Whitewater Center.
