The Charlotte Hornets teamed up Wednesday with 300 Family Dollar volunteers and military personnel to pack and ship more than 10,000 “Care Kits” for U.S. troops serving all over the world. The kits included 200,000 donated toiletries from sponsors, along with personalized notes from players, executives and fans. Family Dollar also presented a $10,000 donation to Charlotte Bridge Home for its service with local military personnel throughout the Carolinas. This marks the second year the Hornets and Family Dollar have collaborated for the project at Time Warner Cable Arena.
