The Charlotte City Council is scheduled to meet in closed session Monday about a possible settlement in a lawsuit stemming from the 2013 police shooting of Jonathan Ferrell by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer Randall Kerrick.
Charles Monnett of Charlotte, the Ferrell family’s local attorney, said, “I can say I’m pleased with the progress of the case. We are diligently preparing for trial (Nov. 2) but we’re open to resolving a case at the appropriate terms at any time.”
The city declined to comment about the closed session. Kerrick is on suspension. Steve Harrison
