ROCK HILL -- Mr. Lymus Brice Jr. passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Agape Rehabilitation Center in Rock Hill, S.C.
He was born June 7, 1929, a son of the late Lymus Daniel Brice Sr. and the late Ella Ree Davis Brice. He was born in a Christian home and at an early age confessed his faith in Christ and joined Tabernacle AME Zion Church. He served in many capacities in the church, including the steward board, men's choir and senior choir. Blessed with a magnificent voice, he sang with many choirs and groups throughout North and South Carolina.
He was a member of Four Cross Lodge of Catawba, S.C. He was a retired trucker. He drove for Lownestein and Springs Industries for a total of 38 years. He was the senior staff member at Clemons Funeral Home, where he served for 48 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Henrietta Brice of the home; his daughter, Renee (Ricky) McElveen; sons, Bernard Brice, Darryl Brice, Dennis Brice, Timothy Brice, Michael (Elouise) Brice and Lewis (Betty) Thorne; and his brother, Rev. Roy (Gloria) Brice of Cheraw, S.C. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Tabernacle AME Zion Church. The Rev. Arthur Randolph Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park - Hollis Lake.
The body may be viewed today beginning at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Clemons-McCray Funeral Home is in charge.
