Severe storms have moved out of the York County area and have weakened considerably, forecasters say.
The National Weather Service has so far received no damage reports from York County, although a tornado warning is still in effect for Gaston County. Damage was reported to a house's roof in Gastonia as well as fallen trees in Cherokee and Union Counties.
There will likely be scattered showers until Saturday morning, said meteorologist Blair Holloway, giving way to an unseasonably warm day with highs expected around 70 degrees.
