CHESTER — A Chester County man died early this morning in a single-carcollision, officials said.
Justin Bailey Blanks, 19, of 1547 Hinnant Road in Richburg died from headand chest trauma, Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said.
“He hit head-on with a tree,” Tinker said.
About five minutes after midnight, Blanks drove his car north along S.C. 901 about four miles north of Richburg when hedrove off the right side of the road, entered a curve and struck a tree,Lance Cpl. Josef Robinson of the S.C. Highway Patrol said.

Blanks, who attended Chester County schools, was not wearing a seat belt,Robinson said. He died at the scene, Robinson said.
During the accident, the weather was clear and dry, Robinson said.However, he said, speed is believed to be a contributing factor. The postedspeed limit for the area is 35 mph. Robinson estimated Blanks’ speed at 60mph.
Toxicology tests also are pending, he said.
