ROCK HILL -- Mr. Raymond Waldrop, 87, of 1608 Gordon Road passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2007 at Grace Covenant Church with, the Revs. Dennis Ayers and Ray Koterba officiating. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. at Westside Cemetery in Lancaster, S.C.
A native of Spartanburg, S.C., Mr. Waldrop was the son of the late General McDuffie Waldrop and the late Mary Israel Waldrop. He was owner/operator of Waldrop Sullivan Music and regional manager for Andrews Music Co. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, a member of Grace Covenant Church, where he was the minister of music and the widower of Ruth Brown Waldrop.
Mr. Waldrop is survived by his sons, Ray A. Waldrop of York and Randy W. Waldrop of Rock Hill; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
