ROCK HILL -- Mr. Floyd "Kid" Howard Childers, 80, of 1757 Aragon Beach Road, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at his home.
In memory of Floyd "Kid" Childers, the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m., Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road.
A native of Smyrna, S.C., Mr. Childers was a son of the late Joseph and Fannie Collins Childers.
He attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church and retired from Celanese Corporation with 43 years of service. Mr. Childers served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Childers is survived by his wife, Valerie A. Childers; two sons, Wayne H. Childers of Rock Hill and T. Keith Childers of Boiling Springs, S.C.; his daughter, Karen C. Hammett of Rock Hill; a brother, Woody Childers of Rock Hill; two sisters, Lil Jones and Ethel Lee, both of Rock Hill; six grandchildren, Nikki and Shawn Craig, Jeff, Zachary, Tyler and Kyle Childers; and three great-grandchildren, Alyson and Michael Brookshire and Aislinn Marie Childers.
Mr. Childers was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Childers, Hezekiah Childers and Marvin Childers; and his sister, Jo Whitesides.
