Clem A. Hinton

ROCK HILL -- Mr. Clem Alexander Hinton of 749 Jefferson Ave., departed this world on July 2, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center. He was born December 29, 1959, in York County, S.C., to the late Malachi (Miller) and Clara Jackson Hinton.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Matthew AME Zion, with the Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating and Biship B. R. Wilson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church which he joined a few years ago. He attended Rock Hill public schools. He was employed at J.P. Stevenson, York County Library and Saluda Discount before he became disabled.

Clem leaves to cherish his memories, five sisters, Celia Williams, Annie Hinton, Doris Davis and Carrie Howard all of Rock Hill, and Patricia Hinton of Charlotte, N.C.; eight brothers, James Hinton of Buffalo, N.Y., Johnny Lee Hinton of Charlotte, Nathanial Jackson of Chester, S.C., Willie Jackson Hinton, Roosevelt Hinton and Terry Hinton all of Rock Hill, Robert Hinton of York, S.C., and Thomas Hinton, on assignment in Iraq; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Funeral Home.
