LAKE WYLIE -- Mr. Melvin Morrison, 54, of 5948 Oakridge Road, Lake Wylie, was born October 7, 1953, to the late Johnny Morrison Harris Sr. and the late Annie Louise Morrison. He departed this life on Sunday, July 1, 2007, at his residence.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Parker Funeral Home, with Bishop B.R. Wilson officiating, assisted by Rev. A. Watts. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery.
He graduated from Spartanburg School for the Deaf and Blind in 1974. He was a certified welder. He graduated from Central Piedmont College in 1976. He worked for Crosby Lawn Service.
He attended Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion in Fort Mill.

Mr. Morrison is survived by one son, Dominic Robinson of Charlotte; five brothers, Gussie Wright Jr., and Vase Lee Wright, both of Rock Hill, Henry M. Morrison (Judy) of Lake Wylie and Levi Harris and Johnny Harris (Virginia), both of Fort Mill; four sisters, Sarah E. Houston (Jerome) of Garden City, Ga., Sarah Peoples of Rock Hill, Maggie Harris of Fort Mill, and Susie Harris of Charlotte; one grandchild, a special friend Brenda Paige and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home of his niece, Tannis Wright, 736 Midvale Ave., Rock Hill and from 6 to 8 tonight at Parker Funeral Home.
