SMYRNA -- Mrs. Lillie Mae McCoy Wilson, 73, of 1136 McGill Road, departed this life on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Mrs. Wilson, better known by her children as "Mommae" was born on May 5, 1934 in York County, S.C. She was the daughter of the late James Crosby and Julie McCoy.
Mrs. Wilson was educated through a brief stint in the York County Public Schools and the trials of life. Her early employment ventures ranged from domestic work to the Spring Mill of Burton Dixie, in Blacksburg, S.C. Mrs. Wilson, having lost her sight in the prime juncture of her life, never allowed this physical challenge to deny her from enjoying life.
She was predeceased by a loving son, Mr. Evonne Feemster and a loving daughter, Mrs. Delafaye McCoy.
Surviving to cherish loving memories are her husband, John David Wilson of the home; her five sons, David Wilson (Bobbie) of Smyrna, S.C., Jackie L. Wilson (Arbydella) of York, S.C., Donald M. Wilson (Marjorita) of Sharon, S.C., Dennis K. Wilson (Peggy) of Smyrna and Aaron C. Wilson (Tammie) of Columbia, S.C.; two daughters, Sandra Y. Worthy (Brian) of York and Joyce A. Wilson of Greenville, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007 at St. John Baptist Church in Sharon. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The wake will be held today, July 12, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in York.
