CHARLOTTE -- Jackie Ferguson, 81, of Charlotte, N.C., passed away Friday, July 13, 2007 at the Agape House. She was born on May 13, 1926 in Iredell County, a daughter of the late Foy Lee Lanier and Arzella Blanche Nash Lanier. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Ernest N. Ferguson and sisters, Betty L. Bradburn and Audrey L. Brawley.
She had been a co-owner in the family business, Woodlawn Printing Company. Jackie was a graduate of Statesville High School. As a 25-year member of the Steele Creek Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Matron on two occasions. She was a faithful member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens at the church.
Jackie is survived by her children, Lee Ferguson and Amy Hawkins and her husband, Andrew, all of Charlotte, Marvin K. Ferguson of Huntersville, N.C., Charles Ferguson and wife, Lynn, of Wilmington, N.C. and Ron Ferguson and wife, Susan, of Fort Mill; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nancy L. Watts of Stoney Point, N.C. and Mildred L. Johnson of Statesville, N.C.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4622 Nations Crossing Road, Charlotte, with Reverends Earl Pennell, Jim Posey and Kent Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 today at the Pineville Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte.
