MARION -- Mr. Lawrence Edward Turner, 75, husband of Lorene E. Turner, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, at his home after an illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Neil Hinson, the Rev. Wayne Turner and the Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Little Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Smith-Collins Funeral Home.
Mr. Turner was born Dec. 3, 1931 in Marion County, a son of the late John Henry and Jennie E. Turner. He retired from Masonite as a maintenance engineer. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. Mr. Turner was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Turner in addition to his wife of 12 years and of the home are six daughters, Dorothy T. Thompson and her husband, Terry of Fort Mill, Patricia T. Brown and her husband, Jeffrey of Marion, Judy T. Caulder of Marion, Linda T. Rogers and her husband, Foster of Florence, Betty T. Foxworth and her husband, Lonnie of Marion and Tanya T. Lane and her husband, Robbie of Virginia Beach, Va.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Campbell of Murrells Inlet and Donna Miller and her husband, Rufus of Dillon; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jennie Clemmons of Florence and Yvonne Shephard of Lexington; and seven brothers, Chris Turner of Melbourne Fla., John Henry Turner of Cocoa, Fla., Mickey Turner of Sunset Beach, N.C., Rev. Whiteford Turner of Seattle, Wash., Jimmy Turner of Greer, Rev. Wayn e Turner of Auburn, Ind., and Robert "Bobby" Turner of Cocoa, Fla.

Mr. Turner was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Mae Turner.
