HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- Ms. Deane N. Davis, 37, of Hollywood, Fla., passed away July 14, 2007. Born in Jackson, Mich., she had lived most of her life in Rock Hill, S.C., and Charlotte, N.C., before moving to Florida a year ago. Deane earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Winthrop University. Her greatest joys in life came from her loving pets and animals.
Deane's favorite quote, by Margaret Sanger: "...A women's duty: To look the whole world in the face with (love) in the eyes, to have an ideal, to speak and act in defiance of convention."
Survivors include her mother, Marilyn Davis; father, Montie Davis III (Patricia); grandmother, Charlotte L. Cooper; grandfather, Lt. Col. Montie Davis Jr. (Ret); and sister Chelsea Plunkett (David).
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time.
