CHESTER - Mr. George Hennis Lindsay, 82, of 528 Purity Road, died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Chester Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Orrs Baptist Church, with Reverend Curtis Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester, S.C., Mr. Lindsay was a son of the late Henry C. and Ruth Chambers Lindsay.
He was a retired manager from A & P Grocery Store and former owner and operator of By-pass Convenience Store and a member of Orrs Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Johnson Sunday School Class. He attended the schools of Chester County.

Surviving are his wife, Odette Darby Lindsay; one daughter, Cathy Turner of Chester; three sons, Sonny Lindsay and his wife, Sandy of Charlotte, N.C., George C. Lindsay and his wife, Sue and Andy Lindsay, all of Chester; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, John B. Lindsay and his wife, Atlee of Newberry; and one sister, Annie Laurie Robbins of Chester. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Lindsay.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Barron Funeral Home.
