YORK --Mrs. Ruby McCollum Youngblood, 79, died Monday, July 30, 2007, at White Oak Manor in York.
Ruby was a loving and caring mother and wife. She was a published author and poet. She will also be remembered for her numerous articles which appeared in The Herald, Voice of the People.
The funeral will be at noon Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007 at Bratton Funeral Home. Burial will be at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of York County, Ruby Youngblood was a daughter of the late Fred McCollum and Lola Fields McCollum. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, James Elton Youngblood of York, S.C.; two sons, James "Bo" Youngblood of York and Vincent Youngblood of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Alice Y. Hildebrand of Rock Hill, S.C., Olivia Y. Queen of Sharon, S.C., and Bonnie Adkins of Rock Hill; brother, Robert McCollum; and sister, Joyce Linker, both of Rock Hill.
Visitation will be held at Bratton Funeral Home today, Aug. 1, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.
