ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Rebekah Howe Chambers, 95, of 159 Hillcrest Ave. died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at home.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Ebenezer ARP Church, with Dr. Boyce Wilson and Dr. Mel Wines officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Gaston County, N.C., the daughter of the late Wade Hampton and Essie Huffstetler Howe. In early childhood, she moved with her family to York County where she continued living out her life. She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and attended Winthrop College. She was a long time member of Ebenezer ARP Church where she served in many capacities of the church's programs: Sunday School teacher, choir member, and offices in the Women of the Church. She was a member of the Allegro Music Club and volunteered with the Red Cross Pink Ladies Club. She owned and operated a personal catering business out of her home.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband, Roy A. Chambers of the home; her daughter, Linda K. Bailey and husband, Tom of Rock Hill; two grandsons, Michael S. Snipes and Larry E. Snipes Jr.; one great-grandson; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will follow the service in the church gymnasium.
