ROCK HILL -- Ms. Mary Ann Moffatt, 90, of 415 1/2 Berry St., was born July 18, 1917 in Fairfield County, S.C., to the late Robert Moffatt and Mary Ann Gladden. Ms. Moffatt departed this life Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at her residence.
Ms. Moffatt was educated at New Hope and Friendship Schools of Rock Hill, S.C. She was a long time, dedicated member of the congregation at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Recognizing her assignment at the age of 9, she became a member of the hymn choir and the gospel chorus. She was also past president of the ushers board at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Ms. Moffatt was a self employed seamstress and devoted much of her time and effort to child rearing (several local doctors' families and her own nieces and nephews.) Leaving to mourn her passing are a special niece, Jackie Culp of Rock Hill; a special nephew whom she raised as her own, Christopher Culp of Rock Hill; niece and caregiver, Willie Mary Gilliam of the home; one sister, Marjorie Williams of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Woods officiating and the Revs. Harold Harris Sr., Ronal King and Minister Charles Dunlap assisting. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Clemons-McCray Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. The family will receive friends at the home.
