ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Judith Gibson DeRossett, age 64, of 2543 Lesslie Highway, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 at Piedmont Medical Center.
Mrs. DeRossett was born in Rock Hill, S.C. and was the daughter of the late John Quincy Gibson Jr. and Carolyn Brockman Gibson.
Mrs. DeRossett was retired from York Technical College after 23 years of service as a switchboard operator and was a member of Catawba Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill DeRossett; daughter, Sarah Amanda"Mandy" DeRossett Nunn; and sister, Sarah Barnhardt.
She is survived by her mother, Carolyn Brockman Gibson of Rock Hill; a brother, John Quincy Gibson IV and his wife, Fay of Rock Hill; a sister, Virginia Brunson of Rock Hill; three nieces, Susie Bayne of Easley, S.C., Kim Nichols of China Grove, N.C. and Karen Martin of Florida; a nephew, John Brunson Jr. of York, S.C.; two great-nieces, Brittany Martin and Brooke Martin, both of Florida and Katie Nichols and Jessica Nichols, both of China Grove; and three great-nephews, Ian Bayne of Easley, Brody Brunson of York and Christopher Nichols of China Grove.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, August 20, at Catawba Baptist Church, 2639 Catawba Church Road, Rock Hill, S.C. 29730, with Dr. Tommy Huddleston and the Revs. Ned Duncan and Raymond Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
