SPARTANBURG -- Mr. Richard Brian Criscione, 56, of Spartanburg, S.C., went to heaven Aug. 6, 2007 at 8:40 p.m. from The Gibbs Cancer Center (Spartanburg Regional Hospital) after a valiant fight with leukemia.
He was born in Chester, S.C. Sept. 17, 1950. He was graduated from Chester High School and attended Spartanburg Methodist College and the University of South Alabama. He was the founder and owner of Carolina Industrial Supply and a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Lee Criscione of the home; daughter, Heidi Criscione Desilets and her husband, Shawn Desilets of Moore, S.C.; daughter, Heather Criscione-Kimbrell and her husband, Dan Kimbrell of Spartanburg, S.C.; grandsons, Trevor Brian Desilets and Samuel Robert Kimbrell. He is also survived by his mother, Juanita Ramsey Criscione, of Chester, S.C.; his brother, John Joseph (Jay) Criscione Jr. of Lexington, S.C.; his sister, Paulette Criscione of Lexington, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Joseph (Johnny) Criscione Sr.
Pallbearers will be Dan Cannon, Alan Davis, Mike Emory, Sam Frazer, Dan Hargett, Mike McInnis, Jim Swainson, and Marvin Waldrep and deputy pallbearers Roger Atkinson, Frank Broom, Mike Langford, Wayne Rhinehart, Jimmy Rollins, Bill Simril and David Waldrep. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 102 Church St., Chester, S.C., with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, S.C. The Rev. Clay Waldrip and Pastor Bret McElroy will be officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 10, 2007 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, S.C. from 6 to 8 p.m.
