ROCK HILL -- Lt. Col. Henry Patrick Masone III, 55, of Rock Hill died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, with Father Joseph Wahl officiating. His cremains will be placed in the Oratory Scattering Garden following the Mass.
Mr. Masone was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was a son of the late Henry Patrick Masone Jr. and the late Catherine Masone. He was a 1974 graduate of The Citadel. He worked in quality control with Georgia Pacific Timber. Mr. Masone was employed with Winthrop University for over 17 years. He was a S.C. State Constable and he served his country for 30 years in the United States Marines in Kosovo, Bosnia and Afghanistan. He was S.C. Commandant of The Marine Corp. League, Executive Officer of the 2nd Brigade of the S.C. State Guard, Member of Knights of Columbus, Member of the American Legion Frank Roach Post 34 and VFW Post 2889. He was also active with Palmetto Boys State and a Red Cross Instructor.
Mr. Masone's value for life continued even in his death through his donation of organs and tissue through Life Point.

Mr. Masone was preceded in death by his uncle, Jack Forlano.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Masone of the home; two sons, Robert Patrick Masone of North Carolina and Samuel McCleskey Masone of North Carolina; one daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Masone Hosenfeld of Rock Hill; his aunt, Lee Forlano of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, George Masone of Long Island, N.Y.; one half brother, Michael Romanelli of Long Island, N.Y.; one half sister, Lucy Vaccarella of Long Island, N.Y.; two grandsons.
