ROCK HILL -- Mr. John William "Dub" Moore, 79, of 1121 Christopher Circle died on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Forest Hills Cemetery, with the Rev. Larry Hays officiating.
A native of Rock Hill, S.C., Mr. Moore was the son of the late John Soloman Moore and the late Laura Leola McGarity Moore. He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church for 59 years, where he was a member of the choir. He was an avid square dancer with the Crescent Squares and past president of the Optimist Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Masonic Lodge 111, and a Shriner. He retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing Co. after 41 years of service and was co-owner of Moore Brothers Metal Works.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Blanks Moore of the home; his son, Randy W. Moore of Rock Hill; his daughter, Gale Moore of Rock Hill; and his brother, Lee Moore of Rock Hill. Mr. Moore will be deeply missed by his family.
