ROCK HILL -- Mr. Charles M. Garrison Jr., 60, of 3253 Tanglewood Drive passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Agape Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Barry Yates officiating.
A native of Chester, S.C., Mr. Garrison was the son of the late Charles M. and Katherine Meixner Garrison Sr. He was the widower of Roberta O. Garrison. He was a 1965 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1968 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1972. Following his Air Force enlistment he attended York Technical College from 1972 to 1974 and received an Associate Degree in Business. He then enrolled at Winthrop University, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Mr. Garrison worked as an auditor with Travelers Insurance Company in the Property and Casualty department of the Commercial Lines Division. He served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at First Federal Savings Bank. He was a former Executive Vice-President of Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union in Charleston, S.C., and a partner in Garrison, Murdock & Associates until his retirement in April 2003.

Surviving are his daughter Angela G. McIntyre and husband, Chris of the home; two grandchildren, Amanda, age 13 and Alex, age 7, also of the home; his sister, Sharyn G. McClure and brother-in-law, Marcus McClure; his niece, Christy Ludlam and husband, Jeff and children, Josh and Kaylee Staton; his mother-in-law, Katherine Oliver; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda and Bobby Vance and niece and nephews, Dawn, Jeff and Eric; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kay and Johnny Coyle and nieces, Emily and Amber; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Mary Oliver and sister-in-law, Annette Oliver and niece and nephews, Brenna, Ladd and Wayland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at home and following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Agape Community Hospice, 2115 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
