ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Leila Kathryn Dease Wright, 89, of 1915 Ebenezer Road died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2007, at White Oak Manor.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. Phil Jones officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
A native of Kershaw, Mrs. Wright was a daughter of the late Gus Dease and the late Maggie Broome Dease. She was a member of West Main Nazarene/Trinity Church of the Nazarene, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 35 to 40 years and was nominated Sunday School Teacher of the Year. She was a faithful church member who made 3 to 5 trips on Sunday mornings picking up children and helping to get them ready for church. She was the widow of Claude Marvin Wright.
Surviving are her daughter, Leila Phifer Sinclair and her husband, John of Edgemoor; her sister, Mary Dixon of Camden, S.C.; three nephews, Mike Adams and his wife, Barbara, David Dease and his wife, Kay and Brian Dease; two nieces, Bertha Channell and her husband, Mike and Darlene Roberts and her husband, Jim; two grandchildren, Tim Phifer and his wife, Lacey and Nick Phifer; and five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh, Johnny, Courtney and Ivy Phifer.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service and other times at the home of her daughter, 5221 Harmony Church Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Greene Funeral Home Downtown Chapel, Leila Wright Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 11549, Rock Hill, SC 29731 to help with funeral expenses.
