LAKE WYLIE -- Mrs. Frances (Fran) Hyde McCracken, 88, of 17 Honeysuckle Woods, Lake Wylie, South Carolina, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 23, 2007, at River Hills Community Church, with the Reverend Bruce Jones officiating.
Mrs. McCracken was born Nov. 6, 1918 in Edinburg, Indiana, to the late John Francis and Lenore Burnam Hyde. She and her late husband Homer "Mac" McCracken moved to River Hills in 1979. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann McCracken Meyers. Mrs. McCracken was a member of the River Hills Community Church, where she was active in the choir.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law, John Douglas and Elaine McCracken of Aurora, Ohio; son-in-law, Tom Meyers of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Christine McCracken of San Diego, California, Karen McCracken and Amy Meyers Wickman both of Chicago, Illinois; one sister, Charlotte Meyers of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; and 11 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.
