Daphne Agurs

ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Daphne B. (Nuggie) Agurs, of 608 Blake St., died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at Piedmont Medical Center.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Chester,with the Rev. George H. Lowry Jr. officiating, and Pastor W.W. Thompson delivering the eulogy. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

A native of Rock Hill, she was the daughter of Mary J. McDaniel Peterson of Rock Hill and the late Robert Lee Peterson Sr. She graduated from Rock Hill High School and also attended York Technical College. She was previously employed as a bus driver with the Rock Hill School District and was currently employed with Robinson Funeral Home. She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Levester (Jimbo) Agurs of the home; two sons, LeMorris "L.T." Agurs of Gardena, Calif., and Travis Agurs of the home; two stepchildren, Lisa Stewart of Rock Hill and Andre McCullough of Chicago, Ill.; two godchildren, Russell E. Brown of Conway, S.C., and Maurice Brown of Rock Hill; one grandson whom she adored, LeMorris T. Agurs Jr. of Rock Hill; one sister, Frances P. Miller of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers, Willie J. Peterson, David Peterson and Sylvester "Butch" Peterson, all of Rock Hill; three aunts, W. Frances Gordon, Estella McDaniel and "Dot" McDaniel Adams, all of Rock Hill; one uncle, Miller McDaniel of Washington, D.C.; two nieces whom she helped her mother to raise, Rubinelle Miller Golden of Rock Hill and Sonya M. Agurs of Bradenton, Fla.

Mrs. Agurs may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Robinson Funeral Home and from noon until time of the service Saturday at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of her mother, Mrs. Mary J. Peterson, 239 Booker Washington St.
